Call for Proposals Community Initiative Fund (COIN-Fund)

The GIZ Regional Programme Improving the Prevention of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM-Prev), in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs and Family, is pleased to announce its Call for Proposals in Somaliland for the Community Initiative Fund.

GIZ FGM-Prev seeks to fund qualified local organizations and projects led by and working alongside women and girls in Somaliland that are of high impact, innovative and contribute directly to the following objective:

• Improved FGM awareness-raising and information initiatives at the community level

Funding Information

• The GIZ FGM-Prev project intends to award up to 10 grants of a maximum amount of 8.000 Euros (eight thousand Euros) each.
• The implementation period of the projects should start on December 1^st, 2021, and shall not extend beyond

June 30^th, 2022

Means of Action

Funded activities can include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Community mobilization to raise awareness on FGM Prevention

• Advertising and media campaigns; social media and YouTube videos; Brochures, billboards, posters, leaflets

• Artistic outputs (e.g., theatre play, video campaign, cartoons, music)

• Public outreach to individuals at risk (organization of public meetings, Generational dialogues, distribution of information materials)

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include:

• Community Initiatives/Community-based organizations

• Locally registered non-governmental organizations and umbrella organizations

• Faith groups – where the project benefits the wider community

Organizations conducting the community initiatives shall:

• Be actively involved in FGM Prevention

• Be registered in Somaliland as a CBO/NGO, charity or social enterprise

• Have been operating for at least 12 months at the time of submission

• Have a management committee, a signed constitution (or set of rules) and a Financial Policy (a document that lays out how you manage money and payments)

Interested organizations can send a blank email between 07.11.2021 – 11.11.2021 expressing your interest with tender reference 83395745 in the subject line to: – (KE_Inquiry@giz.de). You will receive application forms and a guidance document on proposal submission between 08.11.2021 – 14.11.2021

Deadline for Submission: 22.11.2021 @ 0000hrs (East African time)

Bidders are not allowed to contact or discuss any aspect of the tender with GIZ personnel before closing of the tender as it will lead to automatic disqualification.
