The chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NWWDA will be secretary to the Board of Directors and will also be both the Authorized and Accounting Officer of the Agency and responsible to the Board of Directors for overall execution of day to day activities in the Agency.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. A Bachelors from a university recognized in Kenya.
  2. A master’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
  3. Have at least fifteen (15) years’ proven experience in relevant field.
  4. At least five (5) relevant work experiences in senior management position.
  5. Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
  6. Demonstrate professional competency and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
  7. Professional qualification and membership of a professional body.
  8. Proficiency in computer applications.
  9. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Responsibilities

The functions of the office of the CEO are: –

  1. Provide strategic leadership to the staff of the Agency;
  2. Guide in the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures that gives the Agency positive perception and competitive advantage;
  3. Being responsible for day-to-day operations of the Agency
  4. Manage internal multidisciplinary team to ensure set objectives are met;
  5. Facilitate the preparation and implementation of the Agency’s strategic and annual work plans;
  6. Facilitate regular reporting on the status of performance of the Agency;
  7. Being responsible for the execution and communication of the Board’s strategies, decisions and policies;
  8. Ensuring that the organization has an effective management structure including succession plans;
  9. Coordinate resource mobilization to enhance realization of the strategic objectives;
  10. Foster relationships with the relevant ministries, development partners and other stakeholders for the benefit of the Agency;
  11. Ensure prudent management of all available resources of the Agency;
  12. Ensure adherence to relevant national and international treaties;
  13. Foster conducive corporate culture that promotes ethical practices and good governance in line with the Constitution of Kenya 2010;
  14. Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial reports for the consideration and approval by the Board;
  15. Develop networks and partnerships with development partners and spearhead donor collaboration, fundraising and project development within the Agency’s area of jurisdiction;
  16. Ensure compliance with any Government policies and regulatory guidelines and directives;
  17. Serving as the link between the Board and the Management and other stakeholders;
  18. Being responsible for stakeholder management and the enhancement of the corporate image of the organization.
