Position – CMAM Officers

ROLE PURPOSE:

The position holder is responsible for the four CMAM components implementation in the zone and working closely with the Zonal, Woreda, Kebele, community, and religious leaders, and community health volunteers for the effective implementation and linkage of the CMAM program with the community and facility. In addition, the position holder is also expected to provide a consistent and high-quality technical support in relation to IYCF implementation and will assist CMAM staff, in the Woreda to build a strong IYCF implementation package.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job specific roles and responsibilities

  • Strengthen the integration of CMAM in the routine health care system
  • Prepare weekly and monthly work plans for effective implementation of TSFP second-generation intervention as routine health services
  • Strengthen referral linkage among CMAM /IMAM components through availing standard referral forms at health facility and community level
  • Organize /strengthen WDA functionality through HEW to effectively ensure the treatment coverage and quality of services
  • Prepare regular mentoring and monitoring of health facilities with TSFP using standard TSFP score cards/supervision check lists
  • Regularly ensure performance outcome of the therapeutic feeding centres meet SPHERE standard
  • Facilitate nutrition education at TSFP sites in close coordination with Nutrition education supervisor
  • Provide technical support for health facilities and WoHO to analysis and utilization of CMAM data for local decision
  • Strengthen the WoHO on TSFP data base management system
  • Strengthen nutrition surveillance and CMAM data management system of the woreda and health facilities
  • Organize and provide Standard training on CMAM for health workers and health extension workers
  • In collaboration with WoHO health facilities and the community regularly update out breaks and any other aggravating factor for malnutrition through weekly situation up date
  • Ensure geographic and treatment coverage of CMAM services and subsequently required met need is achieved
  • Organize and conduct regular joint monitoring field visit with partners and follow up to address on identified gaps
  • Technically support the TSFP logistic management system at facility and woreda level to improve continues logistic availability
  • Improve documentation of TSFP data at health facility level
  • Strengthen TSFP reporting and recording through regular supportive supervision and availing documentation and job aids materials
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly progress report based on prepared work plan for TFP
  • Ensure children Admitted to OTP and SC are discharged through CMAM
  • Strengthen Referral linkage with PSNP for those PLW/ children with MAM care takers who were already not in the list
  • Establish mother support group at TSFP sites by identification of bright spot mother in close collaboration with Nutrition education and community mobilization officer
  • Provide technical support and facilitate the routine Nutrition screening by Health facilities
  • Support, Manage, coach, and follow up with CMAM Nurses

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • BSc in Nursing, BSC in Human Nutrition, Public Health, and related Field.
  • Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated skills in peer-group training, Training of Trainers and development of training materials.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Local language.
  • Strong computer (Microsoft skills), all and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum three/Four/Five years working experience for Degree out of which two years experience directly related to emergency health & nutrition-related fields Knowledge, training and experience in IMAM and community mobilization/BCC

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • Position holder must have good interpersonal skills & excellent team player
  • Knowledge of the local language (Somali language) is an asset and mandatory
