Compensation and Performance Appraisal Manager (Internal/External)

The purpose of the job:

Compensation and Performance appraisal Manager Responsibilities include researching employee motives, implementing appealing rewards and tailoring benefit programs based on staff needs. To be successful in this role, s/he should have good knowledge of labor legislation and be familiar with organizational psychology and employee engagement. Ultimately s/he will help build fair and attractive compensation and benefits plans that help us improve employee satisfaction and create a productive workplace.  The Compensation and performance appraisal managers ensure that the process is simple and less time-consuming. H/she designs the system in such a way that the overall performance of an employee can be rated with respect to the assigned responsibilities.

Main Duties

·         Designing fair and attractive bonus programs

·         Evaluating how effective the benefit packages are in terms of employee          satisfaction.

·         Ensuring our compensation plans comply with the relevant legislations.

·         Design compensation packages and bonus programs that align with the company’s strategic plan.

·         Ensure salaries and benefits comply with the current legislation about human rights and pay equity.

·         Identify trends and implement new practices to engage and motivate employees.

·         Conduct research on employee satisfaction (e.g. using surveys and quantitative data).

·         Help renew our compensation plans with monetary and non-monetary benefits based on employee needs.

·         Keep track of prevailing pay rates and make sure we offer competitive compensation plans.

·         Help draft job descriptions, job analyses and classifications.

·         Structure compensation in ways that will yield the highest value for the organization.

·         Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs.

·         Track compensation and benefits benchmarking data.

·         Make sure that Performance Appraisal process design with lucid and transparent steps so that every employee can understand it.

·         It is the task of Compensation and performance appraisal manager to brief the entire system to all the employees. They have to explain to the employees that appraisal is not conducted in order to insult anyone but to set performance goals for them.

·         To coordinates with the reviewing authorities in order to ensure the appraisal process is done on time and the deserving candidate gets suitably rewarded.

·          It is the responsibility of Compensation and performance appraisal managers to ensure that appraisal is given to all the deserving employees. The appraisal should be fair. While assessing the performance, apart from daily duties, behavior, punctuality and the relation of the employee with other co-workers should is also considered for the appraisal process.

·          After evaluation of performances and selection of employee for the appraisal, it’s the duty of HR to make sure that the employee gets copy of their performance appraisal from their immediate supervisor, while in the meantime copy of the appraisal of employee should have to be maintained in their personnel files.

·          S/he takes care of the fact that the employees are satisfied with the appraisal. It should be clear to everyone why a particular employee got an appraisal.

Skills and Qualifications

·  Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, Finance or relevant field with six (6) years of experience of which (2) years should be at supervisory position. OR

·  BSc in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, Finance or relevant field with eight (8) years of experience of which (2) years should be at supervisory position.

·  Full professional qualifications are desirable.
