ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINERS, DESIGN THINKING FACILITATOR AND MENTORS

1.      Introduction

Harhub is the first Innovation Hub and business incubation service provider positioned itself as a home where entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, drive, and passion come alive. Harhub was established in 2018 to support early-stage startups to grow and expand through unique services.

Harhub Entrepreneurship and Incubation programs aim to help entrepreneurs to launch their business ideas through providing them appropriate entrepreneurship training, Incubation Services, Mentorship, Coaching, Technical assistance by our experts. Harhub also provides incubated start-ups/SMEs facilities of networking, unique access to finance and crowdfunding platform.

HarHub in collaboration with Shaqodoon Organization will conduct Entrepreneurship trainings, Design thinking bootcamps and mentorship program to 360 Unemployed youth to be self-employed. The beneficiaries will undergo 8 weeks of entrepreneurship training (2 months) followed by business competition, Incubation services and regular mentoring activities (2 months).

2.      Scope of the Work

This assignment will be focus on training selected 360 youth on identification of viable business opportunities, Business planning, entrepreneurship skills, design thinking bootcamps in order to sustainably manage their startups.  The duration of the training will be 8 weeks (2 months), 3 days each week and 3 hours each day.

3.      Objectives

The overall objective of this exercise is to train entrepreneurial skills for 360 youth people who had lack of opportunities to start their own business and provide incubation services and business development services for 39 youth led startups.

To provide Design thinking bootcamps for co-creation, innovation and creativity, developing lean canvas models and conduct market research for the new business ideas.

Provision of entrepreneurship training that is meant to equip the trainees with knowledge and skills on how to improve new business ideas, marketing strategies, small business management, financial literacy, resource mobilization and business planning among others.

4.      Methodology:

The overall training process will be highly experiential and participatory. The training and bootcamp approaches involve various techniques including but not limited to Participatory and interactive Use mini-lecturing/ trainees centered method, Use demonstration and simulation materials, Group work/discussion and individual activities, case studies, co-creation and role plays.

The Entrepreneurship training will cover modules on Inspiration Booster, Creative Co-creation, understanding your customer, understanding your Market, Value Proposition & Business Model Canvas, Operations, Marketing & Branding, Finance, Crowd funding Canvas, Legal Consideration, Action Plan, developing and Pitching preparation for the jury events.

For the Design thinking bootcamps will covered Key Concepts & Principles of Design Thinking, Mindsets of a Design Thinker, Design Thinking Process, Phases, Methods & Tools and etc.

The 360 trainees will be broken down in to different locations and groups enrolling 14 different classes in Hargeisa, Borama, Burao and Gabiley. (Hargeisa: 100 trainees and 4 classes. Borama: 75 trainees and 3 classes, Burao: 110 trainees and 4 classes, Gabiley: 75 trainees and 3 classes). There will be a pre-test and post-test for each training and bootcamps.

5.      Deliverables

At The End of the bootcamps and Entrepreneurship training, the consultants should submit the followings;

       5.1 Boot Camp training:

• Deliver 7 days bootcamp training using Design thinking
• Detailed Bootcamp reports with pictures.
• List of 360 viable business ideas generated during Bootcamps
• Attendance sheets for Bootcamps

 5.2 Entrepreneurship and mentorship

• Deliver 2 months Entrepreneurship training and mentorship
• Detailed Entrepreneurship Training report with pictures.
• Attendance sheets for both Entrepreneurship training
• Detailed Lean Canvas models for the Entrepreneurship training.

7.0 Duration of the assignment:

The duration of bootcamps training is 7 full days each four locations while the entrepreneurship training is 8 weeks (2 months) flowed by another 2 months of business incubation services and business development services.

8.0 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE OF THE CONSULTANT

To qualify for this assignment, the consultants should have:

1. Minimum degree in Economics or Business management and Certified Entrepreneurship and business development services.
2. Certified training of trainers
3. Over 3 year’s training experience for both informal and formal
4. Demonstrated experience and proven record in undertaking similar assignments.
