Digital Media Officer – Mogadishu, Somalia

• Digital Media Officer Requirement

What you’ll do in this role

• Write excellent copy in English and Somali, ensuring that brand messaging is consistent across all digital communications

1. Website:

• Analyse digital data to draw key recommendations on website optimization
• Maintain website presence, including drafting regular blog posts

1. Social media:

• Plan, execute and report a steady stream of creative Social Media campaigns (organic and paid) across our social platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram), working closely with the wider communications team to ensure integration with traditional media campaigns
• Grow Hormuud’s Instagram and Tik tok presence
• Create visual campaign collateral e.g. infographics, videos
• Conduct social media audits to ensure best practices are being used
• Maintain digital dashboard of several different accounts

Email / online marketing:

• Coordinate with sales team to create marketing campaigns
• Prepare corporate communications emails to send out to customers. Experience using internal email programme (e.g. Mail Chimp)
• Monitor key online marketing metrics to track success
• Create and maintain online listings across e-commerce platforms

Experience / skills required

• 2+ years of experience in digital marketing
• Experience executing paid social media campaigns
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business
• Knowledge of video and picture editing software such as Adobe Suite / Cava
• Fluent in Somali and English
• Must be able to juggle multiple projects at the same time
• Strong attention to detail
• Full understanding of all social media platforms and paid-for advertising
• Problem solving skills
• Knowledge of content management systems
