VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

SCOPE OF WORK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gathering, analyzing, researching, and evaluating data and using it to plan and contribute to professional development plans;
Analyzing quality assurance data and making recommendations for improvement to management
Supporting schools and Colleges with internal reviews and School Development Planning and being able to provide effective feedback to facilitate School Improvement;
Promoting, supporting, and monitoring implementations of state educational policies and strategies.
Conducting external reviews in schools to look into the quality of learning and teaching as well as the educational leadership by reviewing relevant documentation, and class observations, interviewing staff, learners and parents and handing out and reviewing questionnaires to the directorate of quality assurance.
Monitoring annually and enhancing learning and teaching performance.
Evaluating the success in meeting learning and teaching objectives
To gather objective information about what happening in schools to help the MOECHE to decide what policy training and resources are needed.
To provide advice, and input to the school principals and teachers about what and how to improve and check that they are implementing to ensure that appropriate guidance and counseling services are provided to leaner in need and that teachers are capacitated with guidance and counseling skills.
To investigate the quality and standard of teaching and learning how well the education institutions are being managed and the levels of attainment and overall achievements of the students.
To ensure that an internal assessment system for the schools is in place and effectively coordinated at the end of each school term and year.
To play an active role in ensuring that the quality assurance and enhancement issues are appropriately considered throughout the school and addressed.
To produce and provide reports and other forms of assurance and share with them with the ministry of education in galmudug state of Somalia.
To assess monitor and interpret analytical information relating to work of the school performance
Collecting data related to the private school
Conduct assessment and surveys on private schools
Ensure the application of the national curriculum; coordinate with primary schools, secondary schools, TVET, and adult education unit
Monitor and evaluate private schools’ performance
Supervision and oversight of the private schools
Collecting data related to the public and private schools
Students’ and teachers’ assessments
Prepare Monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor Degree of Education, PA, BA, Public policy and Management.
Minimum 4 years as teacher or principal and two years for working as an Education supervisor
Sound knowledge and experiences of education quality assurance principles

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Should provide evidence to improve the education system quality by Developing and designing Education data Base EMIS.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
Knowledge of the Somali education system and education policy
Sound leadership and organization development skills
Excellent interpersonal skills must assertive and be able to easily identify, analyze and solve a complex problem.
Exam Coding, Exam Capturing, and Marking after school year Examination.
Computer literacy and familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Sound decision-making skills including analytic and problem-solving skills.
Sound leadership, managerial and supervisory skills.
Ability to effectively manage and supervise the district’s budget and activities/programs.
Ability to motivate, counsel, and mentor staff.
Ability to effectively communicate in Somali and English both orally and in writing
