| Position Summary: |
The sphere of this position will follow general plicy and guidelines set by NPA specifically regarding Driver regulation and vehicle management. They will represent the organisation with responsible and loyal manner.
General responsibilities
- The Duty driver positions will cover driving duties on a 24/7 rotation system.
- The Duty driver will cover watchman duties during out of office hours.
- The Duty driver will collect visitors according to schedule and/or without delay.
- The Duty driver will support logistics in collecting supplies from suppliers.
- The Duty driver will support logistics in delivering supplies to the field operations.
- The Duty driver will support ex-pat staff on errands such as buying supply’s etc..
- The Duty driver will be responsible for maintening thier assigned vehicles on a day to day basis.
- The Duty driver will support other duties assigned by the Logistic Manager/Logistics Officer
Specific duties
- Report broken, damaged and lost or worn out spare parts of vehicles .
- Perform duties in a matter with the line of NPA code of conduct.
- Never work under influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Follow up schedule of driving tasks as requested by LO and LM
- Work in rotation system with will involve 24hrs duties and be in line with the labour law.
- Inform LO and LM any issues and unplanned absence in advance.
- Report to and coordinate with the Logistic Manager on a regular basis on transportation issues.
Desired Skills/Competencies:
- Must be Somali national and from Puntland State Area
- Holder of a valid driving license
- Should be self-motivated and result oriented
- Good command of both understanding and spoken English
- At least 2 years experience working in mechanical workshop or its equivalence
- Experience of working with Humanitarian, organization will be an added advantage
- Ability to integrate and work well within multi-ethnic and multicultural team
- Ability to institute good working relation with both local staff and expatriates
- Quickly respond to the mechanical assistance request coming from the NPA HD staff
