Electrical Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all electrical equipment and systems within IFFCO Somaliland performing the preventive and periodic maintenance activities for all electrical units inside the plant to predict and troubleshoot potential electrical issues before they occur, following the established maintenance plan implementing efficient maintenance practices to minimize downtime, reduce costs, and maintain optimal operational efficiency.

Actively participate in problem-solving efforts for any electrical troubleshooting that arises during production processes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations prioritizing safety by adhering to HSE guidelines and implementing procedures to protect both personnel and equipment.

1.  Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment in the areas of production, plastics, boilers, generators, chillers, compressors, and all units as per established schedules and procedures.

2.  Change fuses, clean contacts, lubricate bearings, and perform other preventative maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns.

3.  Monitor and record electrical parameters, including voltage, current, and temperature, to identify potential issues early.

4.  Implement predictive maintenance techniques to anticipate and prevent failures before they occur.

Corrective Maintenance:

5.     Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in equipment and systems, such as motors, pumps, lighting, and control panels registering the breakdowns in the daily report.

6.     Repair or replace defective equipment and components, following safe work practices and electrical safety codes.

7.     Document all maintenance activities and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

8.     Assist in the installation and commissioning of new or upgraded electrical equipment.

Safety and Compliance:

9.     Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including those related to electrical work, working at heights, confined spaces, and hazardous materials.

10.  Implement and maintain proper lockout/tag-out procedures for electrical equipment.

11.  Report any unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors immediately.

12.  Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize the risk of accidents.

Continuous Improvement:

13.  Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing electrical systems and maintenance procedures.

14.  Determine all the spare parts needed maintaining the used spare parts whenever it’s possible to re-use them again to reduce the costs Provide feedback on existing maintenance practices and suggest improvements.

15.  Stay up-to-date on advances in electrical technology and best practices.

·  Previous experience in Blow molding/FMCG industries

Education:

 ·  High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with technical training in electrical work.

·  Previous training in electrical maintenance and PLC is preferred.
