Position: Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods Project Officer (SHF)

ActionAid International Somaliland (AAIS) is looking for a committed and inspirational Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods Project Officer (SHF) who combines passion for social justice with proven experience in the successful delivery and coordination of key emergency food security and livelihood responsibilities

The Role:

The post holder reports to Country Programme Manager and provide quality leadership for the project implementation and coordinate the project activities around the right holders or beneficiaries, the donor, ActionAid, partners, communities, and the relevant government structure to achieve the expected results. S/he will develop workplans, oversee the execution of the project activities in compliant with donor rules, ActionAid policies and procedures, Core Humanitarian Standards as well as local law, meet key deadlines and ensure a smooth project finalization and close out. Identify the project risks and implement the mitigating measures. The Project Officer will oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle and work to complement and synergize with other projects and programmes.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in community development, social sciences or other relevant areas. Human Resources will be advantageous
A minimum 5 years of relevant experience in people-centered humanitarian and development programme with LGNOs & INGO of medium or large size.
Familiarity with Somalia and Somaliland humanitarian/development context, especially MPCT, protection, and emergency livelihoods.
Knowledge on project/contract management cycle. Grants Management experience. Knowledge of Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) to development. Community development skills. Knowledge of MS Office suites. Effective time management, conflict management and negotiation skills. Risk Orientation. Capacity building and training facilitation skills. Proficiency in English and Somali.
