MSF Sool Project in Las Anod is looking for:
Job Title : Enumerator – (to be based in Sool/Lasanod with possible frequent travel around Somaliland)
Number of positions : Two
Level : 4 (on MSF salary scale)
Work Location : Sool Region/Lasanod, to support all of Somaliland.
Start date : January/February 2022 (if recruitment process is completed on time).
Length of contract : 4.5 months fixed term contract.
The selected candidate will be reporting to (Research Manager) (Hierarchically & Functionally).
Main Tasks include, but not limited to:
Building evidence to support scaling of a machine learning-enabled safe water optimization tool for humanitarian response
The Safe Water Optimization Tool (SWOT) is a web-based platform where field workers can upload water quality data to generate site-specific, evidence-based point-of-consumption FRC targets that maximizes the proportion of water users having safe water at the point-of-consumption. https://www.safeh2o.app
To evaluate the SWOT in two ways: 1) by gathering evidence on its effectiveness in implementation; and, 2) to support SWOT scaling by gathering evidence on previously-identified concerns around SWOT use, including data input requirements, user functionalities, chlorine taste/odor thresholds, and disinfection by-products (DBP).
During the Research Project, the Medical Data Processing Officer (Enumerator) will complete the following activities during the two rounds of data collection:
o Complete a 1-day training on ethics, consent process, and data collection administration. o Sign the Tufts Individual Investigators Agreement
o Learn how to use all water quality testing equipment including calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting. o Test the material and tools with a subset of participants and provide feedbacks
o Follow the planned timeframe for data collection
o Administer recruitment and consent procedure as per the protocol
o Daily conduct data collection as per the protocol, including the completion of the Water Quality Testing, the
Water Users’ Survey, the Focus Group Discussion, and the Survey of Focus Group Discussion Enumerators o Collect water samples for subsequent analysis
o Conduct water analysis in the field and in the laboratory and prepare water samples for analysis in a US-laboratory
o Daily debrief ongoing data collection with the Research Manager and provide feedbacks o Ensure interactions with study participants are adequate
o Report any problems to the Research Manager and the Tufts Research Team
o Provide a debriefing to the Research Manager, the MSF Team, and the Tufts Research Team with recommendations to improve the next round of data collection
o Pack the equipment and the remaining supplies with the help of the Research Manager
- Ensure the laboratory and any other locations and installations used during the data collection are rehabilitated with the help of the Research Manager
Requirements:(Candidates MUST be from Somaliland and able to travel Las Anod/Sool Region, as well as within Somaliland when required)
