Background:

• Save the Environment Ethiopia-SEE is nongovernmental, nonprofit indigenous NGO operating
• in the fields of environmental rehabilitation, education, renewable energy and livelihood
• Enhancement Linked with environmental safety in the Somali regional state of Ethiopia with
• view to combat Desertification by rehabilitating the tainted natural resources and prevention of
• additional man-made Environmental risks by engaging the community in environmental
• protection through community dialogs, Mobilization and awareness rising in areas on our focus.

Purpose:

• Manage, develop, maintain and/or coordinate a varied project of environmental, sustainable
• Development and community-led activity for the Organization.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Support in the delivery of embedding an environment friendly culture in the camps
• Manage the nursery activities and provide technical support to the nursery incentive worker.
• Support in the monitoring or targets in relation to the green plan activities.
• Work alongside managers to ensure that the collating, analysing and interpreting of environmental protection data to inform government and donors regarding the extent of environmental degradation caused by refugee and hosting communities.
• Identify educational, training, or other development opportunities for the environmental agenda for all relevant stakeholders, and where required help support the delivery of those.
• Research, evaluate and recommend grant funding opportunities which will support the delivery of environmental projects.
• Conduct desktop research analyse findings and recommend proposals for future projects in-line with changes of Government Policy and funding opportunities for inclusion in papers and reports.
• Support the on-going evaluation and monitoring of any environmental projects.
• Support in the preparation and input of Environmental protection rehabilitation activities
• Regularly monitor the rehabilitation site and closely work with communities by capacitating and organizing other event.

Reports to: Area manager and Program officer

Location: One Kebribeyah and one Bokolmayo

Qualifications and Achievements:

• MUST-Educated to degree level in Environmental science, natural resource management, plant science  and forestry with minimum of three years experience
• Experience in related type of work is mandatory.
• Relevant knowledge and experience of community-focused environmental regeneration issues and initiatives.
• Project management and coordination.
• Experience of successfully promoting partnership working in regeneration areas with community based voluntary organizations and representatives.
• Knowledge and familiarity in project areas are of paramount importance.

Skills;

• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Communication in English language fluency is must.
• Understandings of the local languages are also mandatory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, at all levels as well as the ability to report to and advise joint community/officers’ groups.
• People management skills.
• Sufficient level of ICT skills.
