HASI Consulting, on behalf of Shaafici General Trading, a professional, active and authentic finance officer.  Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer Manager will manage company accounting systems including keeping accurate records, budgeting & monitoring, preparing and analysing financial statements, managing cash and accounts receivables, etc. The Finance Office will be in Hargeisa, although he/she will travel frequently to other regions of Somaliland and the other cities in the Horn of Africa.

The company is based in Hargeisa Central Market and has established branches in Hargeisa specially Dunbuluq, New Hargeisa, Jijiga Yar and Idaacada. Shaafici has established the first branch in Borama. The company has also agents and operations in other cities of Somaliland and the neighbouring countries. Company products include 1) water and plumbing materials & fittings 2) electricity materials 3) hard construction materials such iron sheet, wood, ceiling, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets
• Manages the ERP system and trains staff on proper use of the ERP.
• Managing records and receipts
• Reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions
• Preparing balance sheets
• Processing invoices
• Developing an in-depth knowledge of organizational products and process
• Providing customer service to clients
• Resolve financial disputes raised by the customer service and sales teams
• Being a key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters
• Supporting the Finance Manager and executives with projects and tasks when required
• Maintaining the petty cash fund.
• Tagging and monitor fixed assets.
• Processing payroll in a timely manner.
• Checking and reporting the daily cash and credit sales report per day from the ERP system
• Writing and recording checks for purchases, salaries, drawings and so on.
• Preparing customers debts report per week and per month.
• Conducting a monthly reconciliation of every bank account.
• Calculating variances from the budget and report significant issues to
• Ensuring that receivables are collected promptly.
• Monitoring office supply levels and reorder as necessary.
• Controls office equipment, supplies and ensures they are properly maintained.
• Assists the finance manager and other executives on projects and activities as required.

KEY SKILLS

The accountant should have strong command of accounting and bookkeeping, have strong mathematical, analytical and critical thinking abilities. The accountant should be able to effectively use the computerized accounting systems and be familiar with ERP systems. Other skills required include attention to detail, accuracy, high typing ability, concentration and hard work.
