All DBG Staff, Donors and Beneficiaries, Community, Local authority and Line Ministries

Contract period

Minimum 6 months, with the possibility of extension but subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Purpose of the Position:

DBG is Planning to implement a food security and livelihood project in Beletweyne district of Hiran Region, Somalia and seeks to engage the services of a competent community mobilizers to assist the Project officer and Manager in the coordination of the implementation of the Project.

Job Description

 

1. Program management

  • Mobilize and sensitize communities on project goals, activities, and participation requirements.
  • Facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, and awareness sessions.
  • Support the formation or strengthening of community-based structures (e.g.,  livelihood committees and groups).
  • Assist in beneficiary registration, data collection, and post-distribution monitoring.
  • Provide regular feedback to the project team on community needs, concerns, and suggestions.
  • Promote inclusion, gender sensitivity, and protection mainstreaming in all activities.
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and community leaders, elders, and stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or certificate in social sciences, community development, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in community engagement or mobilization, preferably in a humanitarian context.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Fluent in [local language] and good working knowledge of English/Somali.
  • Strong understanding of cultural and gender dynamics in the local context.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field sites and work with diverse communities.
