Aamin Organization is a Not for Profit Organization in Somalia established in 2006. AAMIN is engaged in life-saving activities and on improving the livelihoods of Somalia communities through implementation of the following programs; Food Security, Health, Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH), Youth-Empowerment Programs and Provision of free Ambulance services to the communities in Somalia. AAMIN Organization has received financing from Somali Humanitarian Funds (SHF) to implement a health project “Provision of Emergency and Essential Health Care Services through Mobile medical services and free ambulance services to IDPs and hard-to reach host communities in Mudug region (Galkayo South)”. In that regard, AAMIN wishes to Hire 1 qualified doctor on a contract basis for a period of 12 months.

Position Summary:
Under this position the doctor will be required to provide holistic health care and nutrition care to the patients.
Main Purpose:
The doctor will undertake diagnostic procedures and management of patients in the clinic. He/She will provide treatment and care for patient as per Somalia Standard treatment guidelines and other applicable guidelines.
Priority Task and Responsibilities:
Take History, examination, investigation, resuscitation, management and care of patients.
Perform Triaging, assessment, admission and management of patients
Conduct Assessment, investigation, classification and management of mild, moderate and severe forms of dehydration, pneumonia, measles and other common childhood illnesses
Management and reporting of common communicable diseases
Provide Health education to clients and communities
Perform Referral services for complicated cases
Review frequently severe cases referred to the hospital
Operations Management
Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs for supporting women during pregnancy, labor and early postnatal period
Identify capacity-building needs of the auxiliary and volunteer nursing team and ensure they are properly trained and well supported to implement program activities
Participate in emergency preparedness, rapid assessments and emergency responses
Education Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery or equivalent
Registered Doctor with relevant license/certification
Relevant Experience
Minimum 3 years working experience in a busy hospital setting.
Good experience in IMCI & ETAT
Ability to provide Basic Life Support to women and newborns

A good communicator with other doctors, nurses, clinical officers, support staff, individuals, families and patients.

Team player
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient in computer office packages word, excel, power point
Language Requirement: Demonstrate proficiency in Somali and English languages
