Head of Registrar Office – Hargeisa, Somaliland

Position Three Title:               Head of Registrar Office

The Head of Registrar’s Office plans, coordinates, and directs activities of the Registrar’s Office so that students’ (current and graduates) admission and record keeping are properly handled confidentially at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • ensures the implementation of the university’s academic policies with regard to students’ admission, record keeping and graduation course requirement fulfilments;
  • keeps up-to-date records and documents on all academic matters pertaining to students and programs of study of the university;
  • provides information related to students’ population or proper allocation and optimum use of classrooms, lecture halls, and other facilities of the university;
  • ensures the submission of semester grades to the Registrar’s Office from the respective academic departments in accordance with the Academic Calendar;
  • discusses all academic matters and academic students’ status with the Deans/Department Heads.
  • corresponds with domestic and foreign organization concerning the academic status of students and graduates;
  • ensures the proper administration of semester registration, Add/Drop of courses, and exam papers re-evaluation and/or regrading;
  • ensures the issuance of semester grade reports, transcripts and diplomas to students making sure that necessary clearances are carried out.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:              Master’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics,                                          Business Management

Experience:                  Minimum of 5 years’ prior experience as a registrar for a similar                                                      institution or experience in a supervisory management role with                                                       progressive responsibility and demonstrated success, preferably in the                                             Higher Education sector.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in setting and implementing academic departmental action plans.
  • Advanced Information and Records Management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, with database familiarity.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Experience developing periodic reports.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
  • Good command of English Language.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in peak seasons and to work under pressures and tight deadlines.

Mode of Employment: Fulltime with 3 months of probation period

Place of Work:                 Hargeisa, Somaliland
