5.    Subordinates in this Position: (Position Titles) Clinical Officer, OTP/TSEP, Cold Chain Vaccine Logistics, Nutrition & Health Supply Logistics, Outreach Nurses and MEAL Assistant.
6.    Job Role Summary:

To ensure quality and effective programme implementation at the district level. This entails contributing to the effective management of the health and nutrition project in accordance with the proposal’s objectives and time period. Enhancing beneficiary engagement, managing and training staff, and developing and initiating new nutrition initiatives / proposals.

7.    Job Specifications (Essential required for this job position).
Factor Essential Added Advantage
Professional/ Academic Diploma in Nutrition. Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field Humanitarian experience in medical and nutrition programs in Somalia
Relevant Work 4- 5 years   working experience in implementation and management of emergency health and nutrition program in Somalia.
8.    Specific duties & responsibilities Job Responsibilities

Supervision:

§   Be in charge of implementing, managing, supervising, and supporting the health and nutrition project in accordance with the activity plan and time period of the relevant project proposal, as well as any applicable national and international rules and standards.

§   Conduct regular supervisor trips to outreach sites and fixed site for support and supervision.

§   Ensure that regular monitoring and evaluation assessments are conducted, both against project objectives and to ensure program quality, with reports provided to the necessary supervisors.

§   Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities.

§   Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability in all aspects of the project

§   Ensure proper patient care is carried out at according to national health and nutrition protocols all times.

§   Oversee the process of data collection, collation, and dissemination to meet the requirements and deadlines set by SOLO, relevant government, donor and/or other stakeholders

§   Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities for internal and external reports, as requested by health and nutrition coordinator.

§   As requested by health and nutrition coordinator, provide input on the development of the country strategy, new programs, and/or donor proposals.

§   Ensure adequate supplies for the district site and maintain accurate and updated inventories

Staff Management:

§   Supervise the work of all the nutrition and health programme staff

§   Conduct staff performance appraisal and ensure that the staff are performing within the competency level required by the organization.:

§   Identify potential and current problems in the programme at district level

§   Design on job training programs for new employees or skill enhancement plans for the current employees.

Coordination and Communication

§  Develop and maintain appropriate, regular, transparent, and supportive communication structures with the assigned health and nutrition team, SOLO health and nutrition coordinator and other relevant stakeholders

§   Present SOLO in health and nutrition cluster meeting at the district level and any other relevant Forum.

§   Perform any additional duties or instruction given by the programme officer.

9.    Essential skills: §   Good understanding of health and nutrition programmes

§   Ability to interpret health and nutrition indicators

§   Ability to read and write in Somali & English

§   Ability to compile and write reports

§   Possess good supervisory and management skills

§   Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

§   Team player

§   Understands/can perform simple mathematics (addition / subtraction / multiplication / division)

§   Ability to interpret basic nutrition indicators (after training)

11.  Job Working Conditions Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
