Health Nutrition Officer – Hirshabelle (Bulaburte), Somalia

ZamZam Foundation is looking for Health Nutrition Officer

ZamZam Foundation is a non-governmental and not-for profit organization, established itself in the heart of the humanitarian emergency that followed the outbreak of the civil war in Somalia in 1991. Since then, we have grown to become the largest national humanitarian and development organization in Somalia with nearly three decades of experience providing relief and support services to those most affected by the joint forces of war and famine.

Position: Health Nutrition Officer

Contract Length: 12 months

Location: Hirshabelle (Bulaburte)

The general purpose is to ensure effective and efficiency implementation and facilitation, follow up and supervision of all nutrition activities for ZZF

Job Responsibilities

1. Be in charge in supporting the health and nutrition project in accordance with the activity plan and time period of the relevant project proposal, as well as any applicable national and international rules and standards.
2. Ensure that regular monitoring and evaluation assessments are conducted, both against project objectives and to ensure program quality, with reports provided to the necessary supervisors
3. Conduct regular supervisor trips to outreach sites and fixed site for support and supervision.
4. Ensuring that Nutrition activities and Health are implementing according to work plan
5. Ensure required adequate stock of Nutrition supplies, health supplies, and other supplies are delivered to health facility on timely basis.
6. Ensure diagnosis and treatment of patients is based on standard procedures (national and international guideline).
7. Facilitate regular meetings to assist information sharing between facility staff and community members to ensure quality services.
8. Maintain and strengthen the comprehensive integration of nutrition and health plans of intervention.
9. Conduct staff performance appraisal and ensure that the staff are performing within the competency level required by the organization
10. Attend the relevant health and nutrition meeting at the state level including monthly Ministry of health coordination meeting, health and nutrition cluster meeting.
11. Prepare and submit periodic reports of the program progress and achievements.
12. Contribute to the project and budget proposal development.
13. Capacity building of health facility outreach and mobile staffs through proper coaching and training.
14. Oversee the process of data collection, collation, and dissemination to meet the requirements and deadlines set by ZZF, relevant government, donor and/or other stakeholders.
