Human Recourse Officer

Somali Humanitarian Relief Action (SHRA) was established in 1993 in Luuq District, Somalia with a purpose of addressing community development challenges, health and sanitation initiatives, primary education, food security and child protection. SHRA (Somali Humanitarian Relief Action) is tireless working to reduce community vulnerability and build resilient citizenship among the Somalis living in abject poverty due armed conflicts since 1990.

We are inviting highly motivated and qualified individuals to apply for the position of Human Resource Officer to be based in Luuq, Gedo, Somalia.

The Position

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Coordinator, the Human Resource Officer will be in charge of all Personnel management processes for the Organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Preparing job descriptions, advertising vacant positions, and managing the employment process.
2. Ensuring meticulous implementation of payroll and benefits administration.
3. Organizing staff training sessions and activities
4. Monitoring staff performance and attendance
5. Advising line managers and other employees on employment law and the employer’s own employment policies and procedures
6. Ensuring candidates have the right entitlement to work at the organization
7. Negotiating salaries, contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with staff and representatives.
8. Ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.

Job requirements

1. University degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management /Administration, or similar disciplines.
2. Minimum of 4 years of relevant (NGO) job experience.
3. Excellent knowledge of English language.
4. Additional training/certification in Payroll Management – may be advantageous.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
