II. Organization and Position Overview
Welthungerhilfe is a German-based international non-profit humanitarian and development organization. The ultimate vision of Welthungerhilfe is to see a world without hunger and poverty. WHH has been working in four regions of Somaliland (Awdal, Maroodi-jex, Sahil and Toghdeer) since 2001 with multisector interventions. It secures funding mainly from German Government cooperation (BMZ, AA and WFP) and private donors of Germany for its interventions in Somaliland.
WHH seeks to engage a junior expert for support to its MEAL function, and for specific delivery of its humanitarian register – an ongoing data collection exercise under the project Integrated humanitarian assistance and disaster preparedness for populations affected by climate crisis in Awdal and Togdheer, Somaliland.
III. Duties and Areas of Responsibility Humanitarian register (60%)
Coordinate and oversee data collection for the humanitarian register in new project areas (SOM1034) and possible refresh of data collected in previous phase.
Develop and maintain database of data collected for humanitarian register.
Manage humanitarian register information flows to NADFOR and other stakeholders as required.
Support to MEAL function (40%)
Assist in the design and maintenance of project databases and dashboards.
Support integrity of reporting processes, through data cleansing and quality control.
Provide oversight to quantitative data collection exercises for project surveys (baseline, endline, KAP surveys and others), including training of enumerators where appropriate.
Support MEAL team (MEAL Expert and Head of Programmes) with data analysis as required.
Contribute to project dashboards for SMT and technical team meetings.
Contribute to development of trainings in data management and analysis for project teams.
IV. Requirement
Education and Experience
Minimum graduate degree in a relevant field.
2 years MEAL experience in a local or international NGO.
Good grasp of quantitative research methods and database design.
Strong capability in Microsoft Excel and other analytical software (MS Teams an advantage).
Familiarity with the project context a significant advantage.
V. Language Requirement
Proficiency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is a requirement.
