Background

Islamic Relief Somalia (IRS) has been operating in Somalia since 2006 and has responded to conflict and drought affected people through provision of life saving assistance. Through our projects, IR has continuously been providing safe drinking water, improving hygienic sanitation facilities, increasing hygiene awareness, particularly to ones living in IDP camps; empowering the urban poor and distressed working children, engaging in conflict management and mitigation and strengthening of community cohesiveness and co-existence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities.

v Assist Implementation of all projects for IRS in Diinsor in a timely, accountable and quality manner.

v Establishment of good relations with community groups, beneficiaries and IRS staff whom he/she is working with.

v Directly coordinate with project officer, livelihood Assistant and other project staffs.

v Support in the distribution of farming tools to the farmers, dignity kits and other distributions

v Conduct awareness sessions through public and media outreach in the project areas and support other project staffs.

v Support and ensure that the communities are actively participating in all the project implementation and ensure that sustainability is focused

v Monitor and review cash transfers distribution is done and verify if the amount received is accurate and documented.

v Provide accurate reports of distribution such as dignity kits, NFI to the immediate Supervisor.

v Identify any concerns on the project implementation, proper arrangements, support and report if there is any support necessary mitigation measures to the project officer and livelihood assistant.

v Participate, document and ensure you distribute any projects stuffs that needed to be distributed.

v Mobilization and identification project beneficiaries and bridge the link between the communities, beneficiaries, local authority and the projects staffs.

v Ensure that the committees and CCCM coordinate with the committees, local authorities, and local government to support the community referral pathways

v Ensure that information concerning Emergency distribution schedules is disseminated well in advance to the relevant beneficiaries and to the immediate supervisors.

v Randomly monitor the distributed NFI and hygiene kit after they have been received by their entitlements
Ensure all the distribution is done and dispatch accordingly.

v Perform other duties as may be assigned by his/her immediate supervisor/livelihood assistant, project officer ,area manager or any other senior management staff.**

v Submit report of distribution to your immediate supervisor

v Ensure you secure and take care of all Islamic relief properties including but not limited to distribution cards, burners, beneficiary list and other related documents.
