INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

BACKGROUND

On April 1^st, 2022, a huge raging fire engulfed the entire Waaheen Shopping Center.

An area of 12,492m2 was lot to the fire.

The Waaheen shopping center is located in downtown Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland Republic. The center was the largest and most vibrant shopping place in Somaliland. It was not just for the Somaliland customers but also for the neighbor states of Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia. Thousands of large and small size merchants lost everything they worked hard for years.

The Somaliland government, the Somali people and friendly international organizations and governments are engaged in helping the victims of the fire.

COMPETITION PROCESS

The government of Somaliland (the client) wishes to appoint an architect design team to fulfil the vision and bring Waaheen Shopping Center back to life.

The client seeks a design team capable of realizing this project in ways that combine imagination and creativity with economy and sustainability.

Considering that the project will be constructed and realized, the design solution must therefore be reliable both in construction and technical feasibility.

The competition advocates all participants to provide innovative solutions concepts following, but not limited to, the following:

To create abundant publicity In high density shopping center Adept well to changes

Create a pleasant and aesthetic shopping environment Minimize the chance of Fire Hazard

Vehicular access and parking provision

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT

The eligible competitors/companies to indicate their interest in providing the required services. Interested companies must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services and submit (Profile/brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, and availability of appropriate skills among staff, Registration or Technical License/permit issued at least before 3 Years etc.).

TIMELINE

Expression of Interest (stage 1) must be delivered to the address below by Tuesday, May 10^th, 2022 at 11:30 pm local time and indicate as “Provision of Conceptual Design for the Waaheen Shopping Center”
