IT Technician – Hargeisa, Somaliland

National Fiber Optic Company (NFOC) is reasonably formulated company to own, manage and operate the National Fiber Backbone Network connecting major cities of Somaliland Republic. The backbone covers more than 1,200KM stretching from Djibouti Port City all the way to the main urban areas of Somaliland and Metro Fiber Network, which will cover the following services:

Managing and operating Backbone Fiber infrastructure.
Managing and operating the terrestrial and metropolitan cables.

Position Title: IT Technician.

Company: National Fiber Optic Company (NFOC)

Reports to: Transmission Manager.

Contract Type: permanent.

Salary/benefits: According to NFOC’s salary scale and terms and conditions

Duty station: Hargeisa.

Travel: Possibility to Travel

Responsibilities:

Installing and configuring computer hardware and software.
Providing IT support across the company (this may be in person, over the phone).
Repairing and maintaining of IT equipment as necessary.
Maintaining the list of IT Equipment.
Applying updates to computers.
Assist in implementing IT best practices.
Responsibility for the operation and further development of our existing Microsoft Office 365 environment with a focus on E-mails, Azure AD, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
Responsible the Company Social media accounts
ensure proper IT security policies and standards are followed.
Conduct technology training.

Skills and Qualifications

Skills:

Skilled with computer hardware and software.
Having Skills with Microsoft 365 and related platforms.
Must be a very good problem solver.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team effectively.
The ability to prioritize, be attentive to details, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional client service is required
Sound written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively interface with all levels of Firm management, practitioners, clients, and other external business contacts
Strong analytical and organizational skills are necessary
A sense of urgency and a commitment to timely completion of projects. Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a field such as Computer Technology or related field. Certifications such as A+ and N+ will be preferred
Minimum of Two (2) year prior experience with providing IT support.
