About the Job.

The Social Environmental Agency (SEA) is a national non-profit and non-political organization established in 2017 by Somali intellectuals to address the needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), returnees, and vulnerable host communities in Somalia, particularly in Jubaland, South West State, and Bannadir Region. SEA operates its headquarters in Kismayo with sub-branch offices in Mogadishu, Baidoa, and Afmadow.

SEA’s interventions encompass various sectors including; Food Security and Livelihoods, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) issues, enabling effective engagement with communities, governments, donors in projects implementations.

Social Environmental Agency (SEA) is currently seeking a qualified Logistic Manager who will base in Kismayo, with frequent travel to the field for regularly project implementation and technical support activities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Oversee inventory management systems and maintain accurate records of stock levels.
  • Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer service activities.
  • Direct, optimize, and coordinate the full order cycle.
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipping issues and optimize delivery routes.
  • Arrange warehouse operations, catalog goods, plan routes, and process shipments.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics and supply chain performance.
  • Analyze transportation costs and logistics data to identify areas for improvement and plan for future needs.
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, ISO standards, and safety requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, and train warehouse and logistics staff.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints in the logistics process.
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
  • Maintain metrics and implement improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.

Minimum qualifications and required competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 Years’ experience in logistics or supply chain coordination
  • Strong understanding of transportation and inventory management principles.
  • Excellency planning and reporting skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Somali Language.
  • Proficiency in Logistic software and Microsoft office suite.
  • Computer proficiency especially MS office.
