The Country Office in Hargeisa, Somaliland is currently recruiting a: MEAL Intern – Two Opportunities

Fulltime / 40 hours a week

Contract length: 6 Month

Location: Hargeisa with frequently Field visit

OXFAM PURPOSE:

MEAL intern shall support project monitoring, conduct field monitoring visits, data collection/analysis, and quality assurance. He/she will support the Oxfam call centre and accountability feedback mechanism, ensuring the functionality of the call centre and recording community feedback into the database.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

MEAL data implementation and reporting

• Support the MEAL team development of appropriate qualitative and quantitative monitoring data that enhance project outputs and quality monitoring, generate quality evidence on project effectiveness and prepare data for decision-making processes.
• Organize, collect, compile, and document all MEAL-related data and files, ensuring that all records are properly organized and stored.
• Assist data analysis and reporting.
• Undertake other additional tasks assigned.

Accountability feedback mechanism

• Work with MEAL team to set up appropriate and functional community feedback mechanisms.
• Assist /ensure complaints and feedback are collected, recorded in a database, reviewed, tracked, and shared with MEAL/Program teams for a timely response while updating the monthly accountability dashboard.
• Undertake other additional tasks assigned.

MEAL call centre implementation

• Ensure functionality of the call centre and its instruments/facilities and report the problem of the facility in a timely manner.
• Regularly update the directory of all information related to issues raised by the targeted communities and overall activities and share updated documents/report.
• Support enumerators that call centre facility is well-prepared and suitable for conducting calls with the targeted communities.
• Update and maintain daily enumerators achievement of the call centre data collection to accurately follow information.
• Undertake other additional tasks assigned.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

Essential:

• Diploma/degree in monitoring and evaluation, economics, statistics, social work, information technology, or any other relevant field.
• Ability to use digital data collection tools, including the use of kobo toolbox, surveyCTO, and ODK.
• handling data management systems
• Computer literate with experience use of Microsoft applications, particularly skilful use of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and database management.
• Good oral and written communication in English
• Effective communicator and interpersonal skill
• Passionate about humanitarian work and assistance
