Mechanical Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal mechanical operation of all machines and equipment across IFFCO performing the preventive and periodic maintenance activities for all mechanical parts inside production department encompassing the oil filling, plastics and cooling units to predict and troubleshoot potential mechanical issues before they occur, following the established maintenance plan implementing efficient maintenance practices to minimize downtime, reduce costs, and maintain optimal operational efficiency prioritizing safety by adhering to HSE guidelines and implementing procedures to protect both personnel and equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance:

1.     Participate in teamwork to implement preventive and periodic maintenance plans for all assigned mechanical equipment inside production department encompassing plastics, oil filling, and cooling units to predict and troubleshoot potential mechanical issues, adhering to established schedules and the direct manager’s instructions.

2.     Perform routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and other preventative tasks to maintain equipment health and prevent potential failures.

3.     For Cooling Maintenance Technician, check the cooling units concerning refrigerators, ammonia units, and cooling equipment periodically during the shift, providing a readings report to the direct manager.

4.     Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly and effectively, minimizing downtime and ensuring efficient production flow.

5.     Implement predictive maintenance techniques to anticipate and prevent failures before they occur.

Corrective Maintenance:

6.     Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems in production line’s equipment and machines such as motors and pumps inside production department encompassing the plastics, oil filling, and cooling units registering the breakdowns in the daily report.

7.     Repair or replace defective mechanical equipment and components, following safe work practices and mechanical safety codes.

8.     Document all maintenance activities and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

9.     Implement cost-effective solutions and utilize a rapid response approach to resolve unexpected breakdowns without impacting production efficiency.

Safety and Compliance:

10.  Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including those related to mechanical work, working at heights, confined spaces, and hazardous materials.

11.  Implement and maintain proper lockout/tag-out procedures for electrical equipment before commencing to mechanical works.

12.  Report any unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors immediately.

13.  Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize the risk of accidents implementing the required hygiene tasks.

Continuous Improvement:

14.  Implement cost-effective solutions and utilize a rapid response approach to resolve unexpected breakdowns without impacting production efficiency.

Qualifications (Education – Technical Skills – Experience – Certificates)
Work Experience:

·  +3 years of experience at the same position in a related role within a food and beverage industry.

·  Proven experience working in a production facility with similar equipment (pumps, conveyors, blow molding machines, compressors, etc.).

Education:

·  High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with technical training in mechanical or industrial maintenance.

Technical Skills:

·       Good English skills. ·       Hazard Identification.
·       Strong mechanical maintenance principles including gears, bearings, lubrication, and power transmission. ·       Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical problems.

Training & Certificates:

·       GMP & Hygiene Best Practice. ·     Firefighting.
·       Food Safety & Quality Culture. ·     First Aid.
