Fixed-term position of 1-year with an extension chance

Key Responsibilities

The University of Health Sciences is seeking to hire a full-time Media and Communications officer in capturing the impact of the University for internal and external communications. In general, the media and communications Officer improves and maintains the communicational channels and produces a variety of promotional and educational material, website, multimedia graphics, and audio/ video productions on the website and Social media pages mainly to support operations and programs’ needs.

The officer will also play a significant role in shaping the external face and policy engagement of UOHS & will work closely with all the other departments.

Selection Criteria

ESSENTIAL

• Completion of a relevant degree.
• Minimum of 2 Years’ experience
• Excellent communication (Verbal/written) and broadcast skills, including experience in writing, editing and production for a variety of audiences. (Somali/English)
• Creativity and adaptable working, prepared to cope with meetings, conferences, training and all other different types of events.
• Production of documentaries and other education-based materials.

DESIRABLE

1. Experience in Communications.
2. Experience in multimedia.
3. Experience using WordPress
4. High Photographic and video capability
5. Strong understanding in secretarial works
