Midwive – (3 Positions) – Afmadow, Somalia
Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for the day to day implementation of Nehrro activities in the field in accordance with the implementation framework and donor guidelines.
SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mid Wife will undertake a number of duties and responsibilities, including:
- Organize and make plan of all Midwife activities of his/her unit (either static or mobile for patients Care according to the guidelines and NEHRRO Protocols and rules
- Admission of beneficiaries and the ANC and PNC services to the mothers
- Screening of children and Mobilizing on the vaccination program
- Co-ordinate with other health Services for smooth running of the unit and referral capacity to other Health services and BEMONC and CEMONC services to the mothers.
- Carry out deliveries of the patients As prescribed by EPHS, and NEHRRO Health protocols
- Ensure safety and comfort of the patient of the unit Report on consumption and needs of supplies and materials
- Check the clinical card for ANC and PNC regularly and keep the stock register up to date
- Any other duties as directed by the supervisor or the Project manager/medical doctor
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor/Diploma in Nursing and midwifery
- At least 3 years experience in a recognised medical institution
- Must be a local and a resident from the Lower Juba region
- Strong moral standards; honesty, transparency, generosity, altruism and respect
- Experience in working in harsh environment is an added advantage
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a team and within the community.
