: Fixed term contract with possibility of extension based on performance and operational need (Includes 3 month probationary period)

Main Purpose

Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning nursing and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the health care and the development of the plan of action.

Accountabilities

  • Carry out the functions and tasks associated to nursing i.e. perform as a nurse or anesthetist, whenever requi-red or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.
  • Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures, and supervise his/her team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her speciality.
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Carry out and/or supervise the ( decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.)in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effec-tiveness.
  • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor main-tenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.
  • Carry-out and/or coordinate administrative (exit-paper, transfer-paper, etc.), information and data collection (pa-tient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking.
  • Give feedback/ reports to medical focal point.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Follow-up of all DMC activities in baidoa project and catchment area
  • Follow up of the performances of the DMC volunteers
  • Perform the management of patients under MSF criteria
  • Close monitor of the medical and non-medical data; crosscheck the data with the DMC NAM and ensure the data are sent on time in HMIS;
  • Follow up the referral pathway between the community to second or third level and ensure referral criteria are respected from the DMC volunteers and that the patients under MSF criteria are received to the health facilities and they received the free services;
  • Be able to accurately assess the referral forms from each DMC volunteers and referrals from the supported health facilities and use the methods to analyse any alarm or event from the population (health district and appropriate com-munity);
  • Coordinate and organize the trainings/supervision of the DMC volunteers and other staff of integrated health facil-ities under his/her supervision with special focus in following all appropriate protocols and procedures of DMC activities with the support of the DMC NAM and ensuring the good team work and collaboration;
  • Carry-out and supervise all the documentations of the DMC volunteers according to the DMC activities (fill in patients files, referral forms, drugs consumption…), and ensure all information are accurate;
  • ensure the Sexually Gender Based Violence victims are referred to the specialized domain for necessary treat-ment. And Respect secret and confidentiality of MSF medical data and information;
  • Participate in the health education of the patient (and family) when necessary;
  • Participating weekly and monthly reports in project
  • Organizing weekly and monthly meeting for all DMC activities
  • Working closely Health promotion activities manager
  • Working closely psychologist and epidemiologist for related activities

In addition to DMC tasks, be ready to intervene in any emergency scenario that might occur and be able to play a role in all nursing related care in assessment/planning and implementation and respond to any other tasks related to the nurse profile that might be asked by his line manager
