Background:

SRCS is an independent, non-political humanitarian organisation. It was established in April 1963 and became a legal entity following Presidential Decree No. 187 in 1965. SRCS has operated continuously throughout the country’s period of civil war and political divide and is credited for its unity as one National Society. It operates through a network of nineteen branches with activities spread all across the country.

Overall Job Purpose

The position holder will provide effective implementation, coordination and supervision of   nutrition interventions with the aim of improving the nutritional status of vulnerable groups and communities in Mudug region, including managing day to day activities, documentation, monitoring and evaluation of CMAM and IMAM programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure that nutrition activities for OTP   and pregnant and lactating are implementation according to work plans.
• Ensure supplies nutrition are delivered to the facilities.
• Ensure nutrition guidelines are maintained in all MCH/OPD clinics and nutrition screening activities.
• Provide supervision of HCs nutrition staff using the HCs supervision check list.
• Ensure children with medical complications are referred to the stabilization center.
• Mobilize community for identification of malnourished children.
• Train staff to take measurements is taken accurately.
• Distribute IMAM guidelines to all HCs.
• Ensure required adequate stock of plump nut, medicines, micro nutrients and other supplies for management of malnourished are delivered to HCs on timely basis.
• Conduct training needs assessment for nutrition staff
• Participate in implementation of project staff training according to work plans.
• Compile comprehensive training reports
• Preparing monthly nutrition reports.

• Proficiency in computer office packages word, excel, power point.

Educational Qualifications & Professional Training:

• Bachelor Degree of general nursing, Nutrition or public health.
• At least 4 years of experience in in implementing nutrition interventions, nutrition project management or similar field.
• Professionals training related to management of nutrition programs.
• Proven experience in hygiene promotion within a humanitarian context.
• Experience of working with Red Cross and Red Crescent movement is an added value.

Language Requirement:

Demonstrate proficiency in Somali and English languages.
