About Us:

INTERNATIONAL WARS AND DISASTERS VICTIMS’ PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (IRVD) is a non -governmental organization established by a group of volunteers in Syria during the crisis in 2012 and registered in the USA, Sweden, and turkey.

IRVD is implementing projects through regional offices in Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, and Somalia.

Our work sectors are Health, Nutrition, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Protection, Shelter &Non-food items, Wash and Sanitation.

IRVD also manages development projects, advocates to empower civil societies and local governance

Job Description

IRVD is seeking an Operations Coordinator who will manage all IRVD-related activities in Somalia, including procurement, logistics, and management of warehouse staff

Responsibilities:

  • The OC is in charge of setting up, closing, and regular running of a base for a project. This includes procurement, logistics, and management of warehouse staff, drivers, and guards.
  • The OC will coordinate with administration, Human resources, and Program Staff, to assist with requests.
  • The OC ensures that the respective donor regulations are being followed closely concerning in country regulations, procurement, and anything concerning Project assets.
  • The OC is in charge of managing proper set-up, rehabilitation, a day to day running of office.
  • The OC is responsible for planning, procuring, transporting, and storing all equipment relevant to the Project.

Ability to:

  • Ability to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments
  • Ability to conduct work in a professional and mature manner
  • Ability to mentoring and training; experience in supervising staff desirable
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and work under pressure with deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

  • University degree in Economics, Political Science, Polytechnics, International cooperation, Business Administration, Humanitarian studies. ​

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in coordination and management positions in emergency humanitarian contexts​Experience working with relief and rehabilitation NGOs or an agency in the humanitarian aid field.
  • Experience in the planning, coordination and supervision of large operations in complex emergency contexts
  • Strong managerial and planning skills

Languages:

  • Arabic and English are mandatory (oral and written)
