SRCS Somaliland (Bisha Cas) is seeking a qualified candidate for the following position;

Job Title: Orthopedic Bench worker

Grade; Band 2

Reporting to: Orthopaedic technician

Duty Station: Hargeisa -Coordination Office

Posting Date: 22^nd March 2022.

Posting Expiry Date: 14^th April 2022.

Contract Type : Fixed Contract

Overall Job Purpose

The rehabilitation Centre of SRCS Somaliland provides specialized orthopaedic and physiotherapy referral services focused on the treatment and management of conditions related to the musculoskeletal system and the surrounding muscles. The Centres provide physiotherapy services and also produce and fits a variety of orthotic braces, and prosthetic arms and legs, including elbow crutches and wheelchairs to people living with disabilities (PLWD).

Under general supervision of the Head of the Department, the Bench worker will perform rectification assistance for prosthetic and orthotic devices by repairing, replacing, adjusting, simple modification as well as finishing cosmetics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To assist the technologist in the manufacturing of orthopedic appliances.
To assist technologists in filling negative casts, smoothing of positive molds.
To fabricate the orthopedic appliances such as; material cutting by the right measurement, gluing, draping, bending bars, trimming, and edge smoothing.
Assembling of prosthetic/orthotic components and bench alignment.
Complete manufacturing of Prosthesis and Orthosis before fitting to the client.
To replace or repair the worn-out part of orthopedic appliances.
Cosmetic finishing of devices before delivery.
Collaboration with the orthopedic team for problem-solving and critical thinking issues.
Cooperate with all staff members in the center.
Obey the guidelines, rules, regulations and policies of SRCS.

Educational Qualifications & Professional Training

Education; Secondary school graduate, Certificate of Orthopaedic
Professional Trainings; Technical skills like orthopedic technology. Healthcare-related training course
Language; Proficiency in English both writing and speaking

Experience; Minimum 2 years relevant experience

We offer:

SRCS offers a contract of one year, renewable depending on both funding and performance.

Salary and Benefits are according to SRCS terms of employment for national staff.

You must be available to start work as soon as possible.
