Aamin Organization is a Not for Profit Organization in Somalia established in 2006. AAMIN is engaged in life-saving activities and on improving the livelihoods of Somalia communities through implementation of the following programs; Food Security, Health, Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH), Youth-Empowerment Programs and Provision of free Ambulance services to the communities in Somalia. AAMIN Organization has received financing from Somali Humanitarian Funds (SHF) to implement a health project “Provision of Emergency and Essential Health Care Services through Mobile medical services and free ambulance services to IDPs and hard-to reach host communities in Mudug region (Galkayo South)”. In that regard, AAMIN wishes to Hire One (1) qualified pharmacist on a contract basis for a period of 12 months.

Position Summary:
Pharmacists dispense prescription drugs to patients. They provide information about the drugs and help patients understand the instructions their doctors or other health practitioners provided. Pharmacists play a vital role in the health care system through the medicine and information they provide.
Priority Task and Responsibilities:
Dispense prescription drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
Respond to patients’ questions on the use of prescription and OTC medications
Inform patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals
Compound medications, using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients
Ensure the accuracy of prescriptions filled and making sure drugs do not interact in a harmful way
Provide information on products, such as durable medical equipment or home health care supplies
Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs
Input and review patients’ data (patient name, date of birth, prescribed medications, cost)
Supervise and check the work of Pharmacy Technicians and other less experienced staff
Complete required orientation as directed by the health facility
Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
Respect cultural and religious practices of patients (hospital settings)
Demonstrate punctuality and dependence for assigned/confirmed shifts
Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
Education Qualification & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a PharmD degree from a recognized
University
Candidates should be licensed pharmacist
Relevant Experience
Minimum 3 years relevant experience working as a pharmacist in a busy hospital setting
Pharmaceutical knowledge and skills to provide care to adult and adolescent age groups in general and to a specific patient population.
Knowledge and skills related to computerized pharmacy systems, special prescription delivery systems.
Pharmaceutical knowledge and skills to provide care to patients.
Personal Qualities & Attributes:
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
A good communicator with other staff, doctors, nurses, clinical officers, support staff, individuals, families and Para patients.
Excellent organization skills
Team player
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Good English communication skills, both verbal and written
