BACKGROUND
Lifeline Gedo (LLG) is national non-governmental humanitarian organization dedicated towards ensuring that local communities in Somalia are resilient and able to cope with perennial shocks that threaten their livelihoods year in year out. LLG engages in long-term development work, responds to emergency situations, and seeks to address the root causes of poverty.

2. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE | |
For increasing access to Health and Nutrition, Lifeline Gedo works in urban and remote villages in Gedo region through the provision of health and Nutrition services that include treatment of SAM, MAM, essential maternal and child health services in partnership with ACF funded GFFO. |

In collaboration with the Clinical Officer the Pharmacy Technician will process and fill prescriptions. she/he will also undertake other tasks under the direction of a clinical officer to provide excellent beneficiary service and ensure the pharmacy runs |
Main Duties &
Responsibilities:
|
ü Screen prescription orders for accuracy and completeness.
ü Prepare prescriptions – retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure, and sometimes mix the medication. ü Perform calculations. ü Perform medication reconciliation ü Assist in the management of investigational drug studies ü Use technology to help maintain accurate patient records, prepare, and package medications, and place orders. ü Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening ü Greet customers and answer questions ü Receive prescriptions and check their validity ü Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate ü Resolve issues when they arise (e.g., rejected insurance claims) ü Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions ü Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory ü Undertake administrative tasks (e.g.record-keeping) as assigned ü Comply with all security measures and quality standards |
Qualifications Essential

ü Diploma in Pharmacyü Certified Pharmacy technician
ü Three-year relevant experience ü Be a Somali National |
