Program Officer-Program Development Unit (2 Positions)

The Role:

The Program Officer will support in grant acquisition and management of a grant portfolio. The position holder will lead program development, proposal development and design for funding opportunities in line with the organization strategy. S/he will help with the review of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for submission to donors & support offices while ensuring quality compliance and donor satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programming & Proposal Development (Grants’ Acquisition)
• Grant Management & Compliance
• External Engagement and positioning.
• Knowledge Transfer/ Knowledge Management

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in development studies or related field. Master’s degree is preferred
• 3 years programming experience in a grant funded humanitarian or development program. Preferably with one or two previous assignments in a fragile context.
• Training in humanitarian standards is desirable with specific training in donor requirements e.g. BHA, ECHO, GAC and Europe Aid.
• Demonstrated ability to mobilize cross-functional proposal team (technical, operations, field, finance, M&E, Regional/Headquarters) with right staff at the right time to meet even the tightest deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate strong, collaborative relationships.
• Strong writing skills

Working Environment:

One position to be based in Baidoa, South West state and the other position will be based in Garowe, Puntland State with 30-40% of domestic and international travel is required.
