Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Officer and overall supervision of the Head of Programme Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

•Support the development of information products such as the bi-monthly seasonal monitor, local market price or bulletins and food security monitoring reports;
•Participate programme planning process and provide information and mentorship based on prevailing food and nutrition security situation;
•Lead the collection of mVAM survey data analysis and support the design and creation/maintaining of food security and markets functionality trends;
•Work with the VAM and M&E teams to support all remote monitoring activities- on markets and household vulnerability tracking;
•Support the VAM unit in the development of food security, market and vulnerability analysis. Assist in coordinating VAM data collection, cleaning and analysis activities ensuring data completeness, timeliness and quality.
•Support learning and capacity development activities on the use of remote mobile data collection tools for food security and vulnerability analysis;
•Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of School Feeding Programme while supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines;
•Coordinate with cooperating partners/government counterparts for implementation of school feeding programme activities.
•Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Secondary school certificate. A post-secondary diploma in in education, social services or other related functional area is desirable.

Experience: At least four years of responsible support experience in development, food assistance, food security analysis or in a field related to programme functions in a humanitarian context is desirable.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is a requirement.

Knowledge & Skills:
•Ability to facilitate implementation of food assistance programmes using basic understanding of principles and good practices of programme design, implementation and monitoring;
•Understands basic technical concepts and data and their relevance to food assistance programmes;
•Experience in the field with ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
•Strong written and oral communication skills including report writing skills.

Terms and Conditions:

Contract Duration: 1 year (initial)
