We possess long-standing expertise in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), but we also implement projects in Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), as well as Nutrition and Education. PAH Mission in Somalia:
PAH is an international humanitarian organization with it is headquarters in Warsaw Poland. Present in Somalia since 2011, PAH has specialized in integrated programs including WASH, Nutrition, Food Security and Livelihoods, and community-based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). PAH has operations in Banadir, Lower Shebelle, Middle Shebelle, and Galmudug regions of Somalia and Hiraan and Bay region through our cooperating partners. Our current donors are ECHO, GFFO, SHF, WFP, Private donors, and UNICEF
Purpose of the position.
The Project Coordinator will lead WFP Relief Project team, ensuring the effective implementation of all project activities in alignment with donor requirements and organizational goals. He will be directly reporting to the Head of Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop detailed annual work and budget plans aligned with the approved overall work plan.
· Support the timely preparation and submission of work plans and budgets to relevant stakeholders.
· Create detailed schedules for project activities outlined in the annual work plans, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
· Oversee the timely and efficient management of the project, ensuring all activities are implemented in strict compliance with the donor agreement.
· Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual activity progress reports
· Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all reports to the donor and supervisor.
· Collaborate with the Finance Coordinator to monitor and manage the project budget effectively, ensuring alignment with project goals and donor requirements.
· Lead project review meetings to evaluate progress and address challenges.
· Provide weekly updates on the project’s status to Head of Program
· Oversee the identification and selection of target villages and manage the registration process for the relief project beneficiaries.
· Actively participate in internal and donor meetings, providing insightful inputs to enhance project outcomes.
· Conduct regular field visits to project locations to monitor progress, ensure alignment with objectives, and address any emerging issues.
· Support the Head of Programs (HoP) in developing high-quality project proposals, including needs assessments and program design.
· Work closely with local authorities to ensure alignment with local priorities and foster strong collaboration and coordination for project implementation.
· University degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field or related fields
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, preferably in FSL, WASH, or similar humanitarian programs within an INGO or equivalent organization.
· Strong knowledge of food security and livelihoods programming, with a solid understanding of Somalia’s context and humanitarian needs.
· Proven experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation of FSL projects
· Experience in working with donors and familiarity with donor reporting and compliance requirements particular WFP
· Fluency in both Somali and English, with excellent communication skills (speaking, writing, and reporting) in both languages.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate activities with diverse stakeholders, including local authorities, communities, and other partners.
· Field experience in Somalia, with a strong understanding of the local culture, customs, and logistics challenges.
