CARE INTERNATIONAL – TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR PROJECT INTERNS – (2 Positions) GAROWE-SOMALIA

General Objective

The project Interns will be based in Garowe and support day-to-day implementation of the GEEPS and SLAIGHT project covering Puntland state. He/She will be reporting to the Senior Project Officer and will be expected to work with MOE in the Puntland Gender Units and Inclusive Education (SNE)Unit, local communities, partner INGOs, IDPs, CECs, schools and line ministries to ensure the delivery of a high-quality project. Their primary responsibilities will include project is take part for mobilization and enrollment campaigns, planning and implementation, project monitoring and reporting.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities

• Take part Conduct enrolment drives and awareness campaigns for out of school children/girls by existing CEC in the identified (public, community/private) schools.
• Take part in the implementation of the GEEPS And SLAIGHT project in accordance with the workplans and the involvement of concerned stakeholders at all levels.
• Take part in the distribution of sanitary kits, MHM Sensitization, and other school supplies and ensure proper filling of documentation
• Working with Girls Empowerment Forums on leadership skills, self-esteem building

• Working with the project team and MOE ensure that project intervention target marginalized children with special emphasis on the girl child.
• Help the Senior Project Officer in Organizing and participate in quarterly monitoring and evaluation of the projects
• Ensure that project/program monitoring and evaluation system/tools are applied in every activity implemented and data collected both in soft and hard copy using the M&E tools.
• Participate and conduct regular visits to the formal schools to collect data on enrollment, head count, attendance, and transition of OOSG enrolled in the respective schools.
• Prepare activity reports on each activity implemented and submit the report to the SPO
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
