The Role:

The Project Officer- Child Protection/GBV Case Worker will coordinate the implementation of Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Child Protection (CP) case management monitoring. S/he will also be responsible for reporting of project activities, implementation of training, campaigns, advocacy, awareness rising and community mobilization/community engagement. S/he will conduct close monitoring of GBV/CP cases that happen in the project target locations, report properly and follow up until case closure..

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring & Reporting.
• Strengthening of referral system for protection cases among service providers and community actors.
• Case management, psychosocial support for gender-based violence survivors and vulnerable children.
• Work with community members to ensure their active engagement to protect women and children from any type of risks.

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/ Community Development/ Psychology, or any related field.
• Minimum of two years’ work experience in community based programming, local government or NGOs and other humanitarian agencies.
• Knowledge of the humanitarian standards for child protection and GBV.
• Have experience in Somali context and culture.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to speak English and translate to Somali for community beneficiaries.

Working Environment:

The position is field-based in Eyl, Puntland with frequent travel to other target project locations Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
