Position Title: Project Officer: Livestock/Fisheries

Location: Burao, Somaliland

The Role:

The incumbent will provide technical advisory information related to animal health, nutrition, breeding, diagnosis, treatment and disease surveillance. S/he will ensure continuous supervision of the overall operations of World Vision Livestock/Fisheries projects in the district.

Coordination and Visibility

Essential:

Bachelors degree in Veterinary Medicine/Animal Husbandry/Animal Production/ Animal Health or related field.
Four years of experience in similar position, with good understanding on project implementation.
Proven problem solving and decision making skills.
Working with pastoralist livestock communities in development matters, advocacy and governance, gender mainstreaming, children rights.
Community mobilization skills.
Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills.

Working Environment:

The position is field-based in Odweyne, Somaliland with frequent travel to Hargeisa office.
