SRCS (Bisha Cas) is seeking a qualified candidate for the following position;

Duty Station:                          Alley-baday MCH, Marodijeh region.

 Posting Expiry Date:             31st March-23.

Contract Type:                       Fixed contract (12 months with possible extension)

Overall Job Purpose

Under the guidance of the supervisor, the Psychiatric nurse provides professional nursing care to emotionally disturbed and/or mentally ill patients in the SRCS health clinics. Coordinates, care and assists in treatment plans for clients by working with clinical and case management staff, and in line with SRCS health policy guidelines and primary healthcare nursing standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Make a nursing diagnosis of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.
• Administer psychotropic and similar medications, and monitor adherence to non-medicinal treatment regimens.
• Document all patient information on medical charts and follow the physician’s written orders
• Maintain patient confidentiality, test for vital signs of pain and ensure treatments of pain
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations and
• Laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping.
• Assist the client in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.
• Conduct targeted psycho-education, particularly within families.
• Provide psychological support to patients and their families.

Operations Management

• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the mental health programme in line with strategic priorities
• Identify capacity-building needs of the auxiliary and volunteer nursing team and ensure they are properly trained and well supported to implement the programme activities

External Relationships

• Develop and enhance relationships with strategic partners, donors, local authorities and community leaders to maximize support for mentally ill patients.
• Represent SRCS in relevant conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the SRSC Senior Management.
