In Somaliland, we implement integrated programmes that include health system strengthening, disease control, health education, prevention of harmful traditional practices, income generation, food security and nutrition, water and sanitation, and gender equality.

The HPA Somaliland Country Programme is seeking to recruit a qualified Public Health Expert/Officer to join its existing team of the FCDO funded Humanitarian programme. The programme is managed through UNICEF. The details are as specified here-under;

1. Public Health Expert (3 months with possibility of extension)

The job holder will support the implementation of the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) funded Humanitarian response program work plan in Borama, Baki, Zaila & Lughaya districts by providing technical leadership and supervision across the entire project cycle. The key roles of the post holder are:

• Provide regular updates to the Country Director pertaining to the performance of the project activities against the indicators in the log-frame.
• Regularly coordinate with district/regional health offices (D/RHOs) for monthly technical supervision to health facilities
• Prepare and implement monthly, quarterly and annual work plans in a timely fashion and keep a track of the project work plan.
• Coordinate and initiate activities with the R/DHOs, local and international partners.
• Provide technical support to the delivery of quality integrated health and nutrition services,
• Take the lead in planning, coordination and execution of M&E activities including data management, documentation, DQAs and the production of monthly and quarterly reports, and capturing and sharing case studies and best practices.

This position is responsible for the formation and strengthening of partnerships with D/RHOs in MoHD, development partners, relevant agencies and the community. It also provides supportive interactions with other departments including finance, logistics, supply chain management and administration to strengthen the frugality of HPA value for money systems, processes and procedures.
