JOB TITLE: Re-Advert- Pre-qualification of Data Analysis and report Writer

It provides civil society development and has been called by many current and past partners “the mother of Somali civil society.” Support for women’s rights, women’s advocates, and gender equality has been a steady component of the program, and many leading advocates for women’s rights, gender equality, and women’s issues were once partners or trainees of Oxfam. We are an international confederation of 19 organizations (affiliates) working together with partners and local communities in humanitarian, development, and campaigning, in more than 90 countries. All our work lead by three core values: Empowerment, Accountability, Inclusiveness.
ASSIGNMENT PURPOSE: Oxfam is looking for an experienced (as-needed basis) data and reporting assistants to support for specific aspects of collection, collation and analysis of data for humanitarian and resilience programmes. Write up reports for various Oxfam assessments, which includes PDMs, baseline and end line surveys etc. He/she will support supervision, training and management of the enumerators, ensuring any other duties as may be requested by the MEL team. 
Duration: 2 yrs. starting from Oct 2021
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure effective field data collection in line with the methodology and tools set for the various assessments
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, questionnaires and other data collection activities as requested Oxfam MEL team.
  • Tarin and orient Oxfam enumerators with data collection tools
  • Coordinate and work closely with Oxfam MEL team on daily work and problems encountered in the field.
  • Systematically check data for quality, accuracy and consistency, and providing feedback as necessary
  • Perform analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, draft reports presenting the results of the analysis, and share the findings in the given format.
  • Accurately analyze both quantitative and qualitative data for various types of reports.
  • Fact-check and cross-check data with multiple field sources; review all information to ensure accuracy of collected data.
  • Present the results and summary of data analysis in tables, charts etc.
  • Support write-up of various reports including PDMs, assessments, baseline and end line surveys.
  • Perform any other duty as requested by MEL team.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Higher university degree of social sciences, research, or related field.
  • Excellent research skills both qualitative and quantitative research methods;
  • Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven report
  • Minimum 6 years’ Experience in data collection and data analysis platforms/softwares: Mobenzi, SCTO, Kobo collect.
  • Strong experience analysis platforms including Excel, SPSS, STATA, NVivo etc.
  • Proven ability to write and present complex data into solid reports
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; English is preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure, ability to prioritize and commitment to meet deadlines. 
The selection of the team leader will be analysed under the following criteria;

  • Educational qualification, skills and competencies,
  • Submission of a proposal outlining your understanding of data collection, analysis and reporting;
  • Budget/financial part, which includes daily professional fee.
  • Providing at least three references
