The collapse of the Somalia government in 1991 dragged Somalia into a miserable state
characterized by chronic insecurity, massive displacement and lack of adequate access to basic
human needs such as Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Protection and Food Security and Livelihood. Amid this horrific state young Somali nationals established SORDES which stands for Somali Relief and Development Society is a non-political, not-for-profit, and non-religious Somalia NGO, was established in South-central Somalia
region in June 2006 by a group of concerned Somali intellectuals to respond to increased
suffering, starvation and death of the communities badly affected by the civil conflict and famine
in Somalia through the establishment of community-based rehabilitation and development
projects.

Thus, SORDES has been present in most part of Somalia since 2006 addressing the humanitarian needs of the utmost vulnerable communities

REGISTRAS

JOB OVERVIEW

To accurately record personal and anthropometrical data as well and calculate nutritional indices for Children and

Pregnant/lactating women presenting at OTP/Nutrition sites. OTP/TSFP registrar will be working under the direct supervision of nutrition nurse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

OTP/TSFP Planning

· Conduct quality anthropometric measures at the OTP/SFP sites on the referral beneficiaries following the initial screening exercise while ensuring efficient and effective workflow.

· Work with the outreach teams to develop and maintain a referral system at community level.

· Engage CHW in referring malnourished children and pregnant and lactating women special attention to the basic health units.

· Assisting community in identification and referral of acute malnutrition,

· Ensures that nutritional protocol is strictly followed in terms of admission and discharge criteria.

· Properly fill in the registration books and monitoring cards of each beneficiary with personal and anthropometric data,

· Assisting the OTP Nurse to compile weekly and monthly statistic reports,

· Assisting in monitoring the nutrition situation in areas of work, including participating in nutrition assessments and surveillance as required,

· Performing any other responsibilities deemed appropriate by the OTP Nurse.

Handling of anthropometric tools and reporting

· Proper use and recording of OTP/TSFP cards and resisters,

· Collect accurate and reliable data from beneficiaries,

· Storage and sharing of data w with the relevant project staff,

· Inform the caretakers and nurses about the changes in increase/decrease of weight of malnourished children,

· Keep proper record of daily attendance in the register book clearing showing the deaths, cured, defaulters and the transfers,

· Update register books on weekly, monthly and annual basis. Work with the M&E team in recording the data digitally,

· Produce monthly and annual statistical report on data collected.

Reporting

The OTP/TSFP registrar is responsible for ensuring that the data of the beneficiaries are documented in the reporting tools:

· Check the condition of anthropometric materials received or to be sent, and verify the accuracy of any previously inventory of the tools,

· Responsible for proper handling of weighing and measuring equipment. Ensure scales are properly calibrated at all times and report defects, damage or loss of equipment to the OTP/TSFP Supervisor.

· Assist in the preparation of reports about the admission, discharge, defaulter, absent, etc throughout the project cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Diploma in Nutrition or relevant discipline,

· At least one year experience in similar position,

· Able to think and work independently,

· Previous experience working for community managed nutrition project is an asset
