Job Description

Duty Station: CBS Headquarter, Mogadishu-Somalia

Expected starting date: March, 2022

Status: Temporary

Appointment period: Full-time

Reports to: General Manager

Supervises: None

1-  Role

The security expert will be responsible for enhancing and improving physical security and consulting CBS’ senior management, all departments on security related matters.

2-  General Description

The Security Expert is responsible for consulting senior management on security program including but not limited to daily operations of CBS security, development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies and procedures.

3-  Duties and Responsibilities

• Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster information security awareness within the organization.
• Evaluates security trends, evolving threats, risks and vulnerabilities and applies tools to mitigate risk as necessary.
• Ensures the institution/organization complies with the administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.
• Collaborates with organization senior management, human resources, and CBS compliance unit to establish governance for the security program.
• Take lead role in the creation, review, and update of security policies.
• Responsible for development and implementation of security risk management plan.
• Engage in assessments related to risk, controls, implemented control procedures, vulnerability etc.
• Serves security consultant to all departments for all data security related issues.
• Establishes and administers a process for investigating and acting on security incidents which may result in a privacy breach breaches.
• Running risk assessment and security tests and designing countermeasures to eliminate as many potential risks as possible.
• Partners with Human Resources Department to ensure consistent sanctions for security violations.
• Training staff to recognize and defend against security breaches and risks.
• Develop security awareness presentations and seminars.
• Other duties as may assigned.

4-  Qualifications

Education:

• Master’s degree in Security, Criminal Science, Forensic Science, or Security related fields

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in security management, criminal, or compliance management in well-established organizations.

Language:

• Operationally fluent in both Somali and English.

5-  Functional and Organizational Skills

• Experience in security management and related functions such as risk management and compliance
• Ability to align security policies with business requirements
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• A highly logical, honest, and objective nature.
• Good teamwork and time management skills.
