University’s students, and to help further East Africa University’s ambitions in teaching and research.

·         To teach at undergraduate levels in areas allocated by the Dean of the Faculty and reviewed from time to time by the Dean of the Faculty.

·         Developing course material that can be used across a number of platforms.

·         To supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate students.

·         To assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.

·         Collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.

·         To carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line with personal objectives agreed in the staff review process.

·         Setting and grading assignments, tests and exams.

·         Conducting research, writing papers, proposals, journal articles and books.

·         Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.

·         Participating in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.

·         Providing support to students and other colleagues

          i.    Bachelors and Master’s Degree in English Literature (1^st Priority).

        ii.    Bachelor degree in English Literature (2^nd Priority).

       iii.    A strong knowledge of the subject area combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching programs.

2.    EXPERIENCE

          i.    At least 4 years of teaching and lecturing experience in reputable and recognized universities.

        ii.    Experience in working Universities in Somalia.

       iii.    Experience in participation of academic researches and publications.

       iv.    Experience in student assessment and student field work support.

3.    SKILLS

          i.    Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills.

        ii.    Excellent oral and written communication skills.

       iii.    Proven record of ability to conduct high quality research which is reflected in the authorship of high-quality publications, or other research outputs.
