| Description of NAGAADNAGAAD (National Women’s Network) is a voluntary network bringing together 46 women’s organizations in Somaliland. Founded in 1997, it was formed to serve as a collective voice for women wishing to see their rights as equal citizens respected in Somaliland. Its activities focus on women’s education, economic empowerment, participation in decision making, reproductive rights and well-being, through advocacy, networking, capacity building, training and research.

| Key responsibility:· Interviewing GBV survivors and victims, and their families to assess their circumstances.
· Offering or arranging counselling or support to service users & their families. · Making decision or recommendations on support packages for patients. · Attending tribunals or courts to give evidence in legal proceedings. · Keeping both manual and electronic records and databases up to date. · Organising and attending team meetings. · Participating in training, supervision and team meetings · Qualification in Social Work Degree in Social Work or equivalent · Experience of working in a social work setting · Any other duties assigned by the supervisor. |

· Able to deal with abusive and aggressive clients. · Can cope with a high caseload and prioritise according to importance · Ability to organise and prioritise work and manage time effectively. · Strong influencing and negotiating skills. · Knowledge of social diversity issues. · Can deal with sensitive issues confidentially Skills and Abilities · Able to effectively monitor the progress of support packages on individuals. · Can supervise newly qualified social workers and junior members of staff. · Ensuring adherence to standards of care within the relevant quality framework · Experience of assessing prospective foster carers. · Gained vast expertise by dealing with a range of cases · Giving consultations to local authorities. · Advising clients on their career prospects and helping them to find jobs. · Experience of working with people with learning disabilities. · Experience of providing urgent or emergency response to cases. PERSON SPECIFICATION· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Social Work/Psychology · A minimum of three years relevant social work experience supporting victims. · Fluency in English and Somali; · Good command in written and spoken English essential; · Good communication skills, written and oral; · Enthusiasm to learn and apply new skills; · Good interpersonal and team-working skills; · Ability to work under pressure; · Experience of working on in eastern regions of Somaliland; · A willingness to promote Nagaad’s work and develop NGO collaborative work.
