PURPOSE
The Somali Child rights coalition (SCRC) was established as an independent multi-sectoral coalition of civil society organizations involved in and with child rights issues to largely advocate for making child rights a high priority in the Somalia government’s agenda and at national, regional and international levels. The overall aim of the CSO Coalition on Child Rights is to advocate, influence policy formulation, report on international legal treaties and be the voice of Somali children.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
· To lead and represent Somali Child rights coalition (SCRC) secretariat in all forums
· Support the functionality of SCRC to be function;
· Make good relationships with member organizations, other NGO networks, government agencies, embassies, UN agencies, national and international NGOs for advocacy base on the decisions from SCRC members.
· To be accountable to members in approval on reports and some documents that required by donors, stakeholder and government agencies;
· Executes the strategic plan, policies and guidelines that approved by Executive Committee and members and report regularly the progress and challenge to Executive committee and members;
· Coordinate with members to develop organizational development plan, advocacy plan, child rights monitoring plan and project monitoring plan base on the strategic directions and visions of SCRC
· Initiate and commit in raising funds for SCRC.
· Provides clearly orientation and moving forward of organization to support staff in order to implement of effective indicators;
· Coordinates to internal and external auditors to audit on financial and progress reports;
· Develop strategies, annual operational plan, and budget for approval from Executive committee with consultation to members;
· Review on expense and income of secretariat, program and financial report by monthly, quarterly and annual;
· Coordinates to submit regular financial and program report to donors and relevant institutions as required;
· Manage Annual staff appraisal and probation period and ask supervision or ideas from executive committee for some issues and challenge;
· To support and provide information for the Chairmen or executive committee members to be representative of SCRC for national, regional and international forums related to children.
Skills and Qualifications
· The candidate must have Bachelor degree in operational and organisational management, social science, sociology and business management.
· Previous experience working with civil society groups is required
· Knowledge and experiences on fundraising experience in coordinating bodies is preferred.
· Experiences in advocacy and lobby for children’s right agenda and other humanitarian initiative are required.
· Knowledge and understanding on national children’s rights laws, regulations, policies and international instruments regarding children, especially.
· Knowledge and understanding on development and social issues in Somalia.
· Strong knowledge on Project management and report writing to donors;
· Good communication and interpersonal skills;
· Strong writing and fluent speaking in Somali and English languages is required for the role

The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
