Job Description

Temporary Project Officer-Health and Nutrition Three positions (Galkacyo, Garowe, and Eyl).

Effective management and coordination of various health projects implementation in Puntland, including managing day to day activities, documentation, monitoring and evaluation. Work closely with the Project Manager — Health and Nutrition. Provide training support to Primary Health Care and other health program activities (TB, Malaria, HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health etc) in Puntland. Provide timely response in cases of emergency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• To participate in project design,
• To ensure timely and quality implementation of project activities
• To ensure proper staff development and management
• To oversee community mobilization and sensitization on PI-IC issues
• Finance and assets management, budget control and monitoring
• Any other legitimate duty as delegated by the supervisor

Other Competencies/Attributes:

• Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills
• Must adhere to set security standards
• Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

• Educational level required: Degree in Public Health or Health related field with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Technical Training qualifications required: Nurse / midwife or Diploma in Medical Science Public Health

Experience: 3 years of experience in health related field

Working Environment / Conditions:

• Work environment:  Office-based with frequent travel to the field
• Travel:  10% Domestic/international travel is required.
• On call:  Immediately
