Introduction
WARDI is a leading national non-governmental organization in Somalia, with a presence in six regions of the country’s south central region. WARDI’s mission is to provide dignified assistance to people affected by crises so that they can live a dignified and prosperous life. WARDI’s headquarter office is in Mogadishu, with sub-offices in Beledweyne and BulloBurte in South Central, as well as a liaison office in Nairobi.
WARDI specializes in responding to humanitarian emergencies, bridging the gap between crises and resilience, as well as long-term development projects with a track record of implementing high-quality interventions in the areas of health and nutrition, food security and livelihood, education, protection, and water and sanitation. Our programming is distinguished by a bottom-up approach that places communities, local authorities, and government (national and federal) at the center of our efforts.
To improve the quality of our programs by collecting enriched information that aligns with project activities, we need to create a pool of qualified and skilled individuals to be engaged as enumerators in collecting community-based assessments and surveys. In this regard, WARDI invites qualified enumerators with the desire to provide the stated service based on the organization’s and projects’ needs.
Purpose of the assignment
The primary goal of seeking a qualified pool of enumerators is to have trained and ready individuals available to assist WARDI in undertaking post-distribution monitoring, surveys, rapid need assessments, baseline, mid-term, and final evaluations. As a result, WARDI will hire experienced local data collectors to collect both qualitative and quantitative data in specific areas of assignment.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Assist WARDI M&E department in collecting data as per the program/ project needs.
- Understand the questionnaires before undertaking any interviews with respondents
- Ensure timely submission of data collected on daily bases
- Maintain effective communication with M&E officers and other colleagues working in the field
- Respond to follow up data quality checks by M&E officers during data collection and after completion of data collection
- Report on all field challenges to M&E officers assigned to work with in each assignment
- Represent WARDI professionally during the engagement of data collection
- Conduct key informant interviews and focus group discussions
- Ensure completeness of survey questions for accuracy and consistent during interviews with respondents
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least a diploma or a degree in of the relevant fields of social sciences, public health research and statistics, education , economic , Administration, development studies monitoring and evaluation and other relevant degree.
- She/he must be a Somali national and willing to travel the different regions of Somalia
- Having previous experience in conducting data collection with either national or international organizations as well private research institutions
- Possess experience and knowledge on digital data collection using ODK and KOBO platforms
- Excellent knowledge of English and Somali
- Able to manage the features of kobo using android smart phones
- Demonstrate positive behaviors for consistency, liability and trustworthiness at work to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
SCOPE OF WORK AND OTHER CONDITIONS
The successful individuals will be kept in WARDI’s pool of enumerators and will work in WARD’s area of operations and he/she will be based in above preferred regions of residence. If selected, the assignment will be subject to need for work basis
- The duration of remaining active in the pool will be based on the successful performance of your data collection engagement with WARDI.
